Vadjista Broumand, M.D., F.A.C.P joins us from Harvard Medical School. She received her M.D. magna cum laude and with AOA honors from the University of Miami School of Medicine. Then, she completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine with special interest in skin manifestations of human disease. Later, she joined the Department of Internal Medicine at Harvard Medical School where she completed a fellowship in the Division of Nephrology, Brigham & Women’s Hospital and the Massachusetts General Hospital. She has conducted research in the Harvard Institutes of Medicine and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. She is board-certified in internal medicine and she is Fellow American College of Physicians, a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Alpha-Omega-Alpha (AOA) Honors Medical Society. Her interest is in the interface of dermatology and internal medicine.
A graduate of the Yale University School of Medicine, Dr. Fazeli did his Dermatology residency at Harvard Medical School’s Department of Dermatology where he completed his training in medical, pediatric and surgical Dermatology. He received his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dr. Fazeli brings a world class perspective to his field having trained in the many of the most prestigious healthcare institutions in the United States, including Departments of Dermatology at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston Children’s Hospital, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Hospital and the Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
An innovator and leader in new techniques and procedures, Dr. Fazeli has completed an ACGME-approved Laser and Cosmetic Fellowship in the Skin Laser and Surgery Center of New York/New Jersey under the direction of world-renowned cosmetic surgeon Dr. David J. Goldberg. During Dr. Fazeli’s Fellowship, he was trained in hair restoration and hair transplantation by one of the most renowned hair transplantation surgeons in the world in Manhattan, New York, Dr. Marc Avram.
Dr. Fazeli has completed a Mohs College-approved and ACGME-Approved fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology under the direction of Dr. Goldberg in New York.
He also holds a doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on the genetic causes of cancer. Dr. Fazeli has completed over 4000 Mohs surgeries to remove skin cancers at his surgical suite in Fayetteville, NY near Syracuse.
Widely published, Dr. Fazeli is a respected authority in the fields of Dermatology and Skin Cancer, contributing articles to the New England Journal of Medicine, Archives of Dermatology and the Journals Nature and Cell. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology and the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Pedro DelPino, M.D., F.A.C.S. (Fellow of the American College of Surgeons), a graduate of the Upstate Medical University School of Medicine in Syracuse, did his premedical training at both Columbia and Fordham Universities in NYC. His general surgery residency was done at Albany Medical Center/Union University and thoracic fellowship at Upstate Medical University.
Pedro is a board certified surgeon and is currently performing surgical excisions of skin cancers/moles at the surgical suite with Dermatology Associates in Fayetteville, NY. He is also performing sentinel lymph node biopsies and lymph node dissections for advanced skin cancers at St. Joseph’s Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Center and the Oneida Healthcare Center.
Pedro is partners with his brother Dr. Alberto DelPino (colorectal/general surgeon) and Dr. John Kelly (general surgeon) for the Oneida Surgical Group and has been working with Dr. Fazeli and Dr. Broumand at Dermatology Associates since May 2012.
Lindsey Sampo, MPAS, PA-C is a native of Syracuse. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY. After completing her undergraduate studies, she attended Clarkson University where she received her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. During her studies, she trained with a dermatologist which led her to decide dermatology was her passion.
Jessica Bouchard is originally from Galway, NY. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Siena College in Loudonville, NY. After graduation she spent three years working as a research technician at Albany Medical College, where she participated in wound healing research. Jessica later went on to complete her Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Albany Med. She was the recipient of the Cooper Award for Academic Excellence.
Jessica joined the team at Dermatology Associates in 2009. She specializes in general dermatology for patients of every age. Her scope of practice includes skin cancer screenings, mole evaluations, and the treatment of common dermatologic conditions, such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema. She performs skin biopsies, cryosurgery, and minor surgical procedures.
Jessica is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
Melissa S. Roe is excited to be back in her hometown of Fayetteville to pursue her passion for dermatology. She has been a member of the professional, well-rounded team at Dermatology Associates of CNY since 2015. Melissa completed her Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Throughout her education she pursued clinical experience focused in dermatology.
Prior to her advanced practitioner studies, Ms. Roe graduated cum laude from Stony Brook University with a bachelors degree in Athletic Training. She then worked as an athletic trainer at LeMoyne College while earning her first Master's Degree in Education. In her free time she enjoys hiking and being active outdoors (but always remembers the sunscreen of course!)
Melissa specializes in general dermatology including skin cancer screenings, acne, psoriasis, eczema, and a variety of other skin conditions. Her specific areas of interest include skin cancer detection by dermoscopy, surgical management of malignancies, and patient education.
Adam W. Paddock RPA-C is a native of Upstate New York. He achieved his Bachelor’s degree at Columbia College of Missouri while serving in the United States Air Force. He earned a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He was awarded the Affordable Care Program Expansion Scholarship and Workforce Investment Act Grant.
Adam initially trained in the Primary Care setting at Christian Health Services of Syracuse prior to joining Dermatology Associates. He specializes in general dermatology including skin cancer screenings, acne, eczema, psoriasis, and various other skin conditions. In his practice he has an interest in surgical procedures but continues to expand his knowledge and treatment of various exotic skin conditions.
Adam is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and is certified through the National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Shelly Franz, FNP-C is a native of the Central New York area. She acquired her Associates Degree from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing and her Bachelor’s degree from Keuka College.
Shelly worked as a Registered Nurse in Oncology before pursuing her passion as an ICU/Rapid Response nurse at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
Shelly obtained her Masters Degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University as a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Upon completion of her degree as a Nurse Practitioner, she pursued her interest in dermatology at Dermatology Associates.
Shelly is a member of the New York State Nurse Practitioner Association (NPA), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society, and the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners (NADNP).
She enjoys treating the broad spectrum of patients with general dermatological conditions as well as those that present with more challenging patterns. She enjoys the puzzles and problem solving that dermatology offers.
Ellen E. Powers, F.N.P.-C. is a native of central NY where she continues to reside with her family. She obtained a BSN from Syracuse University and her Master’s Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Ms. Powers has over 20 years of varied acute care experience and worked for many years in a highly respected Cosmetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery practice. Her graduate research involved non-melanoma skin cancers which continues to fuel her passion for general dermatology.
Ellen is very excited to have joined the team of excellence at Dermatology Associates. She continues to provide cosmetic consultation and injection services while also expanding her practice to encompass general dermatology.
Ellen is a member of the New York State Nurse Practitioner Association, Dermatology Nurses Association, the Society of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau the International Honor Society of Nursing. She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Jennifer Dunkley began her education at SUNY Cobleskill receiving her Associates Degree in Education. She then went on to receive her Bachelors of Science degree from Columbia College. Her first experience out of college began with Loretto at the Nottingham Retirement Community, where she cared for patients with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
After spending some time out of the work place to be a mom, Jennifer began working in the field of Anti-Aging and Cosmetic Services. Jennifer is trained in all areas of Cosmetic Services including Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peels and Facials as well as use of many Cosmeceutical Products. Also, she was certified through Jane Iredale Cosmetics as a Master Makeup Artist.
She and her family enjoy swimming, traveling and golfing together.
